Duff Cattle Company's Power+Plus Beef Genetics is a 400 head seedstock operation located in southwest Oklahoma. Kirk and Todd are from a fourth generation farm and ranch family in Kiowa County. In addition to breeding Angus and A+Plus cattle, Duffs also farm several acres of wheat, barely, and alfalfa, and are recent new owners of a 5,000 head feedlot. At a very early age, Kirk and Todd were very involved in their father's sizeable stocker and feeder operation. They also became active in showing cattle and started a small herd to raise club calves. After FFA, they continued to raise club calves for several years and bred several major champions in Oklahoma and Texas. |

Kirk became acquainted in the club calf business with Tim Ohlde, Palmer, Kansas, in the mid 80s and purchased and brokered several Angus based females. It wasn't until 1998 that he became serious about registered Angus genetics and selected some pivotal cows in the OCC Mature Cowherd Dispersion including DCC New Look's dam. The following spring, he made a major purchase, buying his first Angus herdsire, OCC Genesis, the highest selling bull at OCC until recent years. Since that time, Duff has been on a very determined and deliberate path to grow his seedstock operation and improve the quality of his herd by selecting only the top genetics from respected herds. He has never bought large quantities in any single herd and only added cattle that fit the mold he desired - powerfully designed, moderate cattle with volume, fleshing ability, and extra style. In the last couple of years, he has utilized an extensive ET program to advance his program and increase the size of his registered Angus herd. In 2004, Todd sold his business in town and joined the operation full time to oversee the farming operation and new feedlot activities. In early 2008, Kent McCune was hired full time to direct the marketing efforts and assist with the overall breeding program. |
